Eighth grader Brian King is the state spelling bee champion. FOX21 challenged him to compete against our own spelling bee champion of sorts meteorologist Matthew Kruger. Brian is going on to compete in the national spelling bee this May in Washington D.C.   *NOTE: During the competition Brian is told that his spelling of miniscule is incorrect. Upon further research it was discovered that the word can be spelled either miniscule or minuscule. We corrected our mistake at the end of the show and he was declared co-champion of FOX21's spelling bee.

The Colorado Springs Police Department has teamed up with a local taxi cab company to combat crime in the city. Yellow Cab has volunteered its drivers to help CSPD look out for and report suspicious activity.
