DENVER -- Nurture, Inc., a New York-based company, is voluntarily recalling selected varieties of baby food meals due to defective packaging that causes the pouches to swell or leak, which could result in bacterial contamination.
Recalled products distributed in Colorado include HAPPYTOT Stage 4 food meals. The food comes in 4.22 oz. Pouches with plastic caps and expiration dates between November 2010 and January 2011.
In Colorado, the baby food was distributed to Target stores in Aurora, Boulder, Castle Rock, Denver, Glenwood Springs, Lone Tree, Longmont, Parker, Silverthorne and Westminster.
Although no illnesses have been reported to date, consumers who purchased the product are advised not to use it and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
The recalled products come in several flavors with the following UPC codes:
- Green bean, pear and peas, UPC code 8 52697 00127 9
- Sweet potato, carrot, apple and cinnamon, UPC code 8 52697 00128 6
- Spinach, mango and pear, UPC code 8 52697 00129 3
- Butternut squash and apple, UPC code 8 52697 00130 9
- Banana, peach, coconut and prunes, UPC code 8 52697 00131 6
- Banana, peach and mango, UPC code 8 52697 00132 3
Additional products recalled but not distributed in Colorado include HAPPYBABY Stage 1 and Stage 2 pouch meals with the same expiration dates.
