GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) -- A Nederland man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two boys whose parents he had befriended has been sentenced to six years to life in prison, followed by parole from 10 years to life.
John Arthur Lovelace pleaded guilty in July to one count of sexual assault of a child, but the count named both victims. He was sentenced Friday.
Jefferson County prosecutors said Monday that the 54-year-old will have to register as a sex offender.
In both cases, Lovelace was accused of offering his friends' sons drugs, sexually assaulting the boys, and then giving them cash not to tell anyone.
