COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The onset of fall brought several snowstorms to the area. By November, some areas on Pikes Peak had accumulated more than 4 feet of snow.
So, "Matt vs. Wild" now goes to do a snowclimb!
Any snowclimb or hike requires avalanche safety. Always carry proper equipment, including appropriate footwear. Dress in layers.
More importantly, check for avalanche danger. Avalanches occur most often on slopes of 30-40 degrees. Especially on these slopes, check for unstable layers of snow.
Climbing, hiking, and backcountry skiing are all popular around this region, but be aware of existing obstacles or weather.
