DENVER (AP) -- A statewide crackdown on drunken driving netted 350 arrests over the Halloween weekend.

The Colorado State Patrol says it collaborated with 22 law enforcement agencies in a special operation targeting drunken driving from Oct. 30 through Nov. 2.

State Patrol chief Col. James Wolfinbarger said Friday those arrested could have easily ruined countless lives and ended up in prison.

The Patrol reported the highest number of arrests with 111, followed by Denver police with 62, Colorado Springs police with 41 and Aurora police with 35.

The next statewide DUI operation will take place over the Thanksgiving holiday.
