Friday morning crash sends woman to hospital

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A 19-year-old woman is at Penrose Hospital in critical condition after a traffic crash that happened at approximately 1:30 a.m. Friday at north Union Boulevard and Purgatory Drive.

A witness observed a Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by victim Joylisha McCall, traveling northbound on Union Boulevard when it lost control, crossed over the center median and rolled.

McCall was thrown from the vehicle during the accident. She was alone and alcohol impairment is suspected.

The vehicle collided with two parked and unoccupied La Petite Academy school vehicles, causing moderate damage to both.

The investigation is ongoing.
