DENVER (AP) — A blizzard warning is still in effect for Colorado's far Eastern Plains.

The warning area includes Yuma, Wray and Burlington.

The National Weather Service says the snow should taper off Friday morning but that gusts of up to 50 mph will keep blowing the snow around and reduce visibility.

Several highways on the Plains are still shut down because of the conditions. Eastbound Interstate 70 from Airpark Road at the eastern edge of the Denver area to the Kansas line is closed but westbound lanes have reopened. Eastbound Interstate 76 between Brighton and Nebraska is also shut down.

In northern Colorado, northbound Interstate 25 from Wellington to Wyoming is closed.
