The horse's owner, Carl Evans, was grateful to the many hands who worked together to save him. Photos show the rescue.

Police say it was a strong-armed robbery that happened just before 10 p.m. when a janitor in the building was confronted by a male suspect, who apparently had been hiding in the break room. The janitor stated the suspect was pointing a .357 revolver at him and demanded money.

The Red Cross said a total of 19 apartments were affected by the smoke and flames, although they said only eight were destroyed.

One lane in each direction reopened Thursday afternoon. Repairs are still needed on other parts of the highway through Glenwood Canyon, about 115 miles west of Denver.

Jurors have reached a verdict in the Darrent Williams slaying trial, announcing a "guilty" decision that Willie Clark murdered Denver Broncos player Williams in 2007. He's charged with first-degree murder and other counts.

Since the beginning, the owners of Murray Street Darts have been against the state's smoking ban in restaurants. They said when it first went into effect they tried to follow the law by installing a patio out front, but added they still lost a lot of business.

The Colorado Springs Police Department has teamed up with a local taxi cab company to combat crime in the city. Yellow Cab has volunteered its drivers to help CSPD look out for and report suspicious activity.
