ASPEN, Colo. (AP) -- The snow will be white but organizers of the Winter X Games hope the rest of the event will be green.

That's because people attending the Winter X Games this weekend on Buttermilk Mountain will be greeted by many ways to help the environment: The plates and napkins will be made from a sugarcane byproduct; leftovers will be used as compost; and kitchen grease will be turned into biodiesel to power the buses and snowcats.

Fans who separate cans and plastic into recycling bins will also receive prizes.

The initiatives are part of the X Games Environmentality program created in 2005.
