DENVER (AP) — Denver International Airport officials announced a plan for nonstop flights between Denver and Tokyo to start by 2012.

Aviation manager Kim Day says they have been meeting with officials at the Tokyo airport and All Nippon Airways to make DIA a little more international.

Day also announced details about plans for a hotel adjacent to the airport Thursday as she delivered the annual State of the DIA address in Denver.

The 500-room hotel will be south of the Jeppeson Terminal and on top of a new rail station, taking passengers to Union Station in 30 minutes. The train will arrive in 2015.

Current international destinations from DIA include London and Frankfurt, as well as a number of locations in Mexico and Canada.
