Colorado Springs police arrested Anthony Lariccia, 20, after he was found attempting to break into vehicles along Downing Drive, just south of Maizeland Road at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.
The person who called police had been sitting in her vehicle conversing with her son, when they observed the suspect lifting door handles attempting entry.
Police say she blew the car horn which scared the would-be burglar away, only to be caught about a half mile away by police.
The male was positively identified by the reporting party during a show-up.
During a finely-tuned mirandized interrogation, the suspect admitted to being the alleged burglar.
He was made to post bond on criminal attempt, first-degree criminal trespass, a Class-6 felony.
