COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Photographer Adrienne Petterson was a guest on Thursday's  FOX21 Morning News where she showcased her new book, "Backyard Snapshots," which highlights some of southern Colorado's nature and wildlife.

Petterson said beauty surrounds us everywhere, every day.

"I want everybody's backyard to be 'everywhere'," she said. "Your local nature center, a friend's backyard -- the sidewalk, even."

Although she's been snapping photos for nearly three decades, it's the last few years here in Colorado that have inspired her to keep clicking the shutter.

"Things here just keep changing," she said. "My favorite part is the blue sky. I call it 'Colorado Blue.'"

An advocate of animals, Petterson decided that once she got her pictures in print, she would donate some of the proceeds back to local wildlife conservation efforts.

On Saturday, August 29, Petterson will hold a book signing at the Fountain Branch of the Pikes Peak Library between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. as part of the Wildlife Art Show and Sale. The library is located at 230 S. Main St. in Fountain.
