FOX21 Morning News anchor Mike Brookbank talks with Yeardley Smith, the woman who is the "voice" of Lisa Simpson, during the Thursday, Sept. 25 "In the Foxlight" segment. "The Simpsons" is the longest running comedy show in television history.

Smith has given vocal life to that character for 20 years this season. The premiere episode airs Sunday, Sept. 28, on FOX.

Smith explains that she had about a 4-second audition years ago to do the voice of Bart Simpson, but producers preferred she personify his sister, Lisa.

She also talks about her career, a new independent film in which she acts, and her first novel, "I, Loralei" which is set to be released in January 2009 by Harper Collins.
