Three days after she was reported missing, 22-year-old Bekime "Becky" Elshani was no where to be found Wednesday.
On Monday night, police found Elshani's boyfriend, 25-year-old Daniel Dereer, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gun-shot wound inside his apartment in the 6000 block of Twin Oaks Drive.
Police said they were originally called to Dereer's apartment to check the welfare of Elshani on the request of her parents. When they arrived, they heard a popping noise from inside the home.
When police forced their way in, they found Dereer dead. Police said they searched the apartment and surrounding area, but have found no trace of Elshani.
"There was just nothing at the house that pointed in any direction, no signs of a struggle, or any indications that anything occurred there, or that would give us any specific direction to look," Lt. Skip Arm said.
Wednesday, police stepped up their search for the missing woman thanks to a handful of tips they received.
"We have received some calls that have pointed in some direction, that has resulted in our helicopter unit going up and doing a search between Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek," Lt. Arms said.
He said the aerial search turned up nothing new. He said for now a ground search is not an option due to a lack of evidence.
"They look for anything out of the ordinary, of course they look for a body, or ground that may have been disturbed, anything that would show some recent activity that would be suspicious," Lt. Arms said.
Fox 21 talked with the Elshani family Wednesday, they said they were upset after hearing that the day's search turned up nothing new.They said the past few days have been extremely hard on the whole family.

Elshani is described as a white female, five feet, five inches tall weighing around 110 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes.
