Forty-six-year-old Dan Tang pleaded guilty Friday in Denver federal court. His Heaven Dragon restaurant in Thornton features photos of Tang with Republican notables including former President George W. Bush.

The quarter ending Sept. 30 was the fourth consecutive quarter in which new foreclosure filings increased. For the year so far, new foreclosure filings in Colorado are up about 18 percent compared to the same period in 2008. The news isn't all bad, though.

SGB USA Inc. is a subsidiary of Starkstrom-Geratebau, based in Regensburg, Germany. General manager Kerwin Stretch said Wednesday that SGB chose the Denver suburb partly because of the area's high concentration of renewable energy manufacturers and researchers.

The state health department said Wednesday that Energy Fuels Resources Corp. filed an application to build a uranium and vandium mill 12 miles west of Naturita. The mill would be able to process up to 500 tons a day. If approved, the department said it would be the first new uranium mill built in the nation in more than 25 years.

Lakewood-based ZeaChem Inc. is working with Hazen Research of Golden to build the first units of its biofuels refinery. ZeaChem President and CEO Jim Imbler says the company will transfer the modular units to Boardman, Ore., where it will eventually run a commercial refinery.

The Colorado Water Conservation Board approved the agreement in Denver on Monday. The agreement means Pitkin still owns its water but is agreeing to keep the water it has rights to -- 4.2 cubic feet per second -- in the river for as long as it wishes.

Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter plans to direct medical marijuana dispensaries to start paying sales tax. Ritter's move comes after Colorado Attorney John Suthers concluded in an opinion issued Monday that medical marijuana is considered personal property that can be taxed and shouldn't be treated like prescription drugs, which are tax exempt.

Temporary solution decided on Tuesday by city, contractor and architect. Chunks of ice fell from the sloped metal roof of the new USOC headquarters downtown damaging several cars on Monday. Fire crews shut down portions of the roadway and sidewalk as a precaution, but what will the city do to fix the problem?

Deluxe Corporation today announced plans to close its small business call center in Colorado Springs in support of other adjustments to the Company’s small business segment. The small business call center employs approximately 225 people.  The Deluxe direct-to-consumer call center located in Colorado Springs is unaffected by today’s announcement.
