Police say it was a strong-armed robbery that happened just before 10 p.m. when a janitor in the building was confronted by a male suspect, who apparently had been hiding in the break room. The janitor stated the suspect was pointing a .357 revolver at him and demanded money.

Qualifying families could receive up to $5,000 to help pay for medical services and equipment, such as physical and occupational therapy, prescriptions, wheelchairs, orthotics, eyeglasses and hearing aids. Grants are also provided in cases where insurance may cover only a portion of the expenses.

An affidavit made public Friday also says Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood told deputies he fired at one student who had his back turned to him. Eastwood is charged with attempted murder and other counts after allegedly opening fire at Deer Creek Middle School in suburban Denver on Feb. 23. He hasn't entered a plea.

Minneapolis-based Xcel said Thursday it will install baffles in the smokestack of a new unit at the coal-fired Comanche plant in Pueblo. They're expected to be in place by the end of April. It's not clear whether Xcel will seek to pass the cost onto ratepayers.

Authorities say Daniel Michelotti of Spring Grove, Ill., died Wednesday in the slide near U.S. 6, about a mile from Arapahoe Basin ski area. Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson said Michelotti worked at Breckenridge Ski Resort and had been living in Colorado since November.

The man is also suspected in a liquor store robbery where a clerk was stabbed. The taxi was stolen Wednesday night and used in the holdup early Thursday. The SUV was stolen later and then abandoned after running a stop sign and grazing another vehicle.

The trial of 36-year-old Elinor Dvir of Denver ended in a hung jury on Thursday. Prosecutors haven't said whether they plan another trial. Dvir is charged with solicitation of first-degree murder and other counts. Prosecutors say she tried to hire an undercover police officer posing as a hit man to kill Richard Nedlin in his Aspen home.

An elderly female victim responded to a knock on her door made by a female suspect. When the resident answered the door, a man with a handgun forced the door open, then ordered the three women who were in the apartment to lie on the ground.
