COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- *  Colorado Springs citizens are invited to learn more about Initiative 2C on the upcoming ballot from Councilwoman Jan Martin. The initiative asks residents to approve a city property tax increase. Tonight there will be a gathering of supporters at meadow muffins in Old Colorado City. Organizers say it's a way to educate residents about impacting their community. The event, which includes food and drinks,is from 6 to 7 tonight. RSVP by calling 719-635-8803.

*  Theatreworks at the University of Colorado--Colorado Springs (UCCS) presents “Invisible Voices: New Perspectives on Disability”  through October 17. The production features local people with disabilities telling very personal stories on stage and giving voice to our largest, least understood and least visible minority. *  Children's Literacy Center is hosting a story time with a reading of the book "About Space" by Jan Carson. The book is one of the “All Pikes Peak Reads 2009” program selected books. Bring the family to the Barnes and Noble near the Citadel Mall at 4 p.m.. Following the reading, there will be a space-themed craft project. Admission is free.
