COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Studies have shown that music played to an unborn child has many positive effects. Some research shows the music helps to facilitate intellectual development, engage the baby's attention, develop learning, language and memory skills and even stimulate latent musical abilities.
A Colorado couple developed a product called "Lullabelly" that allows a pregnant woman to play music to her child in the womb while "on the go." Adrianne and Michael Godard were guests on FOX21 Morning News Wednesday and talked about the benefits of music and how the device works.
"Although playing music to a baby in the womb is nothing new, any expectant mother will tell you that stretching a headset across your belly is clumsy, and nearly impossible to safely listen along to the same music while playing it for your baby," says Godard. "This is the modern mom's way to play music to her unborn baby."
Simply plug the Lullabelly speaker into your iPod, iPhone, CD or MP3 player and select your choice of music, lullabies or audio books.
Lullabelly is extremely soft, adjustable, lightweight, and machine washable.
