COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The national organization, RecycleBank, has teamed up with Waste Connections in Colorado Springs to improve recycling efforts in the area.

This program allows clients to put all their recyclables in a container, fitted with a tag. The weight of the bag will be measured, and Waste Connections will haul the bag away to be recycle.

As an added incentive to recycle, for every pound recycled, the customer will receive two points. The points can be redeemed at local and national retailers. K-mart, CVS, and Target all participate.

Customers will not have to sort the recyclables, just make sure all items qualify.

Recyclebank says this has helped increase recycling in some cities by 37 percent.
