Every December, the El Paso County Deptartment of Human Services organizes an event called Feed the Children. Last year, 1,200 less fortunate families received food, toiletries, clothes and toys at the event. But, the need is even greataer this year. They are asking for volunteers and donations including:
- Turkeys and Hams
- Non-perishable food items
- Clothing
- Toys and stuffed animals
- Personal hygiene items
The Feed the Children giveaway will be on Saturday, December 19th. For information on how you can help call (719) 444-8191
In addition, Whole Foods is helping raise money to be able to purchase more food to give to need families. On Thursday, November 5th 5% of all purchases at both Whole Foods in the Springs will go toward the event.
