Assignment Editor

FOX21 seeks an Assignment Editor to help lead our day-to-day operation in news gathering. This person should have a passion for news, smart news judgment and have organizational skills that put the Dewey decimal system to shame. Our Assignment Editor will establish and maintain relationships with police and fire departments, government officials and local community organizations to obtain information regarding developing news items. The ideal candidate needs to be ready to bring fresh new story ideas to the table on a daily basis. If you like to shoot, that’s a bonus because you’ll have plenty of opportunities to do just that. Want to post stories on the web? You’re in luck; this job comes with a login to the content side of our webpage, which means you’ll write and post news stories. Knowledge of Southern Colorado and experience in managing people in news is a huge plus.

Main Anchor

FOX21 News is seeking a Main Anchor for our 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. newscasts.
This person needs to be one of the Chief Journalists in the newsroom. This person should be a strong writer, have wicked-sharp news judgment, good story-teller skills and possess the ability to relate to the viewer. This person will not be afraid to occasionally hit the streets to report as well (If you’re looking to read the news and go home, try another shop). Colorado Springs is a great market, and we are looking for someone long term, not a market hopper. A college degree in broadcasting or related major is preferred with at least 4-5 years anchor experience. Familiarity with iNEWS, AVID and the Ross animated system puts you way ahead of the game. If you’re not a team player, this isn’t the newsroom for you.

Entry Level Retail Sales Executive
